Hey Hannah, concentrating on a task can be really difficult, especially when you’re already familiar with the topic and you are simply revising. One technique that I occasionally use is to change the location where I am studying. I usually study at my desk but I find that moving somewhere else – the kitchen table or a public library – can help me to refocus. Aside from that, I find that getting rid of distractions in general also helps. This fits in with relocating because at home you can always get up and make a cup of coffee, or stare into the fridge, or do some housework that you normally wouldn’t do, but if you are studying elsewhere most of these distractions can be eliminated.
