Hey Jee, just wanted to say: good on you for trying. Also, there just isnt a better time to help, whether now or later. Artists put their work out there and brave any storm that ensues; some dont weather it well. So should we just criticise them then, or maybe take a second, more considered look at their work and justifications? I saw a comment to your post that actually read Graces poem in the most tender way — and what we must remember is that the best poetry teachers are those who hold a multiplicity of interpretive possibilities and accept each on its own terms. Its not just about being generous, although a sense of generosity is requisite for that striving towards objectivity — because we must surely know by now that absolute objectivity is impossible. In the gap that opens between the possible and the impossible, one can only hope for kindness, open-mindedness and love.
