Hey OIers! I am almost 17 years old and I have Type 3 OI. I dont post in the group much, but I have a problem that I could use a little input on. Specifically, I appeal to those who exercise regularly. For as long as I can remember, I have gone to physical therapy on a weekly or every-other-week basis. My therapists recommend specific exercises and/or activities for me to do every day each week, which they call my home program. I cannot walk and therefore I use a wheelchair, so my exercises arent particularly difficult. However, for some reason, I struggle to do them every day. I usually put them off or forget or let some other dumb thing get in my way. I know that it is important to exercise, especially for people with OI because we need to make the most of our bodies. We need to stay strong and healthy to live long and happy lives. I know this, yet I frequently fail to do my exercises, even though they arent very hard. So here are my questions for those who exercise: Have you ever experienced this problem? If so, how did you overcome it? How do you combat forgetfulness and procrastination? How do you stay motivated? Or put another way, what motivates you to exercise and make healthy choices? I appreciate any input, advice, and/or encouragements. I really do want to make a positive change in my life. It is just that I am my own worst enemy in this situation and I am not sure how to overcome that. Thank you in advance. :-)
