Hey PSBC! ~TL;DR: Apply to be an underclassmen rep~ So youve seen District One post on and on about Underclassman Representative positions for this year after mentioning them at Kamayan, but I just want to make one final attempt to encourage you to apply! Formerly known as the Freshman Representatives, we installed the position of the UR last year to allow second-years who missed their chance at applying to become freshman representatives for their schools. We believe that freshmen and sophomores play a vital role not only in the growth of D1 but also their home clubs. With their new ideas and unfettered energy, URs bring a new dynamic to D1 E-board. Underclassmen reps will begin their term the following spring. Theyll learn the ropes, assist the other members of E-board with their duties, and even plan events of their own. Its my hope that they will rise as transformative members of the Filipino community and serve on the E-board for years to come. With D1, there are so many opportunities for you to test your leadership skills, expand your network, and learn about Filipino and Filipino-American culture. I encourage determined and enthusiastic freshmen and sophomores to apply for a spot. It would be a privilege to have you on our team next semester. Like all leadership roles, being a UR wont be easy, but youll have a great support system by your side. There will be moments of difficulty but they are easily outnumbered by the good times.
