Hey Santa Maria Valley!!! WANT MORE PUBLIC TRAILS? Please attend this Trail Meeting at 6PM Tomorrow - Thursday, April 3 at Moxie Cafe - please invite a friend. The Santa Maria Valley Open Space is excited to present an Evening with Greg Bettencourt, trail advocate and one of the founders of the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers. Greg will talk about the history of the CCCMB and teach us how we can create a successful trail community here in the Santa Maria Valley. Greg is a married, father and grandfather. Retired high school teacher and counselor mountain biker since 1984. One of founders of CCCMB in 1986 President from 1993-2013. Through CCCMB I’ve been involved with the design, construction and/or maintenance of essentially every trail in SLO County that cyclists use - and many that they can’t use. I have had two tightly interwoven goals for CCCMB for the last 20 years. Create more sustainable multi-use trails and have positive and productive relationships with other types of trail users. Literally everything CCCMB does is driven by these two goals. How CCCMB became effective; attend meetings, cooperate with other user groups, do lots volunteer work, be responsible partners with land managers, attend meetings, learning from mistakes, utilize new trails to build support, attend meetings, be willing to compromise, attend meetings.
