Hey Steve, think I finally got my PC back up and running! Sad thing is your disc didnt help as much as I had hoped since I couldnt use the virus guard portion of it... so 4 crashes, 1 system restore, a whole day defragging (and still not done, we had a power outtage near the tail end of it so gotta do it AGAIN, ugh), disc clean up, running spybot for malware TWICE in deep scan mode, re-updating all my primary programs, running microsoft fix-it on just about every option it offers, and removing a few programs I never downloaded (mystery downloads since no one else touches the pc) ... I think were going in the right direction. I ended up downloading a free virus guard program by a group called Panda... its pc magazines editors choice and it picked up 2 trojans (one only 12% into the scan) and 2 viruses plus there were another 5 trojans quarantined by windows security essentials that oddly enough never showed up whenever Id check the logs until I downloaded Panda. I sure hope things are all better cause goodness knows I dont wanna go thru all that BS again... Ill get your disc back off to you end of the week (y) Thank again for letting me borrow it. Youre a total sweetheart (I dont care what anyone says about ya :) )
