Hey Team --- A couple of you sent me emails about riding at Fiesta tomorrow evening to show our support for Juan Carlos and his family. I think this is a good idea so I am officially canceling our mountain bike workout in hopes that you all will come down to Fiesta Island instead. Even if you don’t know Juan Carlos, I urge you to join in this ride because doing so will also show support for the other riders injured in this horrific accident (including one of our own Tuesday night regulars, Bea Dormoy) and will hopefully encourage city officials to make Fiesta Island—and the rest of San Diego—safer for cyclists. Juan Carlos Viñolo remains hospitalized in critical condition. Juan Carlos was one of several cyclists hit by a suspected DUI driver at Fiesta Island. Juan Carlos sustained the most serious injuries, among the group. Ride Details * Fiesta Island (Meet at the entrance of the Youth Camp and the Aquatic Center) * 5:45p meet, 6:00p roll * Two laps * Moderate to slow pace * Avoid riding more than two abreast * Bring a friend - All cyclist welcome (road, tri, mountain, beach cruiser, etc.) See you on Tuesday...
