Hey Team, In a bid to improve work life balance (ironically procrastinating at work as we speak) Im stupidly setting myself a big hairy audacious goal of doing the 51st Rotorua Marathon on the 2nd of May 2015. Its something I’ve always had on the bucket list but something that I’ve never seriously committed to so figured what better way to ensure I can’t pull out than having others money on the line. Fundraising is something I haven’t really done before and I’m never entirely comfortable asking for others money so there’s absolutely no pressure but figured it would be a great opportunity to achieve a personal goal while also giving back. Whether you can spare 5 bucks it’ll all go into the pot for what I consider to be awesome charity and (rather selfishly) provide me that extra level of motivation through training and the event itself. In terms of the charity I think we all know someone who has been affected by disability which hasn’t defined them nor stopped them achieving their goals in life which I find absolutely inspiring. If any other lads/lad’esses wanted to get involved in the event and step out of their comfort zone (surely not!) it would be great to get a team together, but again no pressure. And just to put my money where my mouth is I’m going to start the ball rolling by donating $250.00 towards the cause. Trust all is well and guess I’d better get out there and start pounding the pavement! Keep it Rural! Cheers Doug
