Hey Zane, I am writing to you for advice about myself. I am 18 - TopicsExpress

Hey Zane, I am writing to you for advice about myself. I am 18 going on 19 years old, I have a 6 month old beautiful baby girl, a man that loves me and I have been with for 4 years. I am happy with my life; I enjoy reading, writing, and small simple gatherings. My problem is all my friends around me go out and do things young people like to do. Is there something wrong with me because I am content with small things instead of going all out? My sisters are in their 30s, with children as well, and go out a lot and tease me cause I am boring and call me a nerd. I work, have a 4.0 gpa in my 3rd semester in college, and take care of my daughter. That makes up what I do on a daily basis. Does that honestly make me a boring person since I decided to grow up way too fast? MY RESPONSE: It does not make you boring. It makes you grounded and responsible and someone concentrating on her future. My daughter is 19 and she has no kids but she is much the same way. She got sick of parties her freshman year of college, studies a lot, and often tells her friends that she does not want to go out. Do not let other people make you feel like you are making bad decisions by choosing to stay in instead of hanging out. I was never one to hang out a lot either and people tease me know because I tend to be like a hobbit. I went to happy hour a couple of weeks ago with friends to celebrate their birthdays and after an hour, I felt like a deer caught in headlights and left. They were drinking and dancing and I was standing there looking like a statue and sipping on ice water so I jetted. I was more concerned about what I could be working on. Do you.
