Hey all: Im a certified vinyasa instructor, and I have been teaching trauma-informed yoga to women living in the shelter at Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) for the past year and a half. As you may or may not know, DAIS is moving to a new, public space--its very exciting! We are looking for any mats for donation as we like to give each woman a mat of her own to practice on and to take with her after she leaves the shelter. For most of these women, this is the first time theyve ever practiced yoga, and their excitement in getting their very own mat (to keep!) is powerful. If you have a mat to donate, please let me know on this thread or contact me on FB. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new building is on July 30th, so we dont need the mats until on or after August 1st. Well arrange some type of drop-off/pick-up at that point.
