Hey all. New SCCoA member here in Atlanta! Finally got my account approved haha. Just yesterday I picked up a 1994 5-speed SC. One owner from Nashville. Had a crate motor installed a few of years ago when the original one catastrophically failed. The odometer is broken of course and stuck at 123,5xx but it seems to be around 135k, which is corroborated by the Carfax. It looks like a huge pain in the ass to fix the odometer gear but Ill get around to it. Factory 10 disc changer and car phone equipped which seems to be rather uncommon. Unfortunately the bezel around the gauges has about a billion broken clips and will need to be replaced, meaning Ill lose those car phone buttons. Oh well. While driving it home yesterday I noticed it was getting very very warm. It was about 85-90 degrees outside the whole way and the temp gauge sat about 3/4 of the way up the sweep. Ive never owned a Ford before so the NORM reading is a little frustrating. That seems high to me. At one point in the mountains it became so warm that the check gauges light came on. I cranked up the heater which seemed to cool it down some. Last night I pulled the plug that goes to the temp sensor and I confirmed that both fans are running. It seemed like it came on at high speed and then went down to low speed. Today with the sensor pulled and both fans running, it stayed nice and cool even while sitting in traffic. Never went over halfway up the gauge. I know the gauges are notorious for being rubbish and Ill try to find some way to get the temperature. Either way, that far up the gauge doesnt make sense. Anyhow, Im happy to be here and I hope to learn a lot soon!
