Hey all! Today we started fundraising for my thesis and Im trying to get the word out there to everyone I can. Itzpapalotl is a magical realist piece set in the Mojave Desert directed by me. With strong themes of feminism and colonialism, this film was written as an homage to traditional Native American folktales, in attempt to revive the spirit of storytelling. Centering around a young healer, Mara, and her rabbit companion, Itzpapalotl, the narrative delves into mysticism, psychedelia, and the overall force of Mother Nature, with an emphasis on the power of women. Please take a few minutes out of your day to at least check out the Kickstarter. There is some awesome art and test footage on there that is worth looking at! Every donation for this film counts, as Kickstarter works on an all or nothing platform (meaning if we do not reach our goal, we get NOTHING).
