Hey all, a quick update on progress. The animal has made it - TopicsExpress

Hey all, a quick update on progress. The animal has made it through another night and is showing some signs of improvement. I am gauging signs of improvement by observing its eyes and movement within the pet crate. This afternoon i have noticed some more movement and the animals eyes are open wider than previous day. Have not observed the animal eating on its own which is a concern. Have intubated with fluids and force fed and will continue this procedure this evening. Having come into captive care by being approached and picked up with out avoiding human contact is a concern. The poor body condition and the lack of muscle around the breast area gives an indication that the animal has not eaten for a while. My thoughts at this stage is that animal may have been unable to successfully catch prey for a considerable time. If the animal can eat on its own and we can improve body condition i may opt for a release as soon as possible. The question is, will the animal be fit enough to return straight back to the wild and continue to hunt for itself. The option to train, build fitness and observe an improvement in body condition may be a more ethical decision to make before releasing back into the wild.
