Hey all :) thanks for the tag Youthser! Im Will Dewsbury and live in Leeds, UK. My background as a kid was Judo, competed at national level and one international tournament. My ego was pretty fragile and so when I didnt place at international level I gave up on the sport. Fast forward ten years, when I went to study (music) I rediscovered martial arts through a friend and started to research. I came across Russian Systema and began to develop myself alone and also by contacting a teacher (Paul Genge). Having a bit of a travelling lifestyle (Im a touring musician by trade) I put the classes on hold but carried on in my own time. I discovered Idos stuff online during this period and have been eating the crumbs from his table so to speak ever since (working hard on getting towards the stuff he so generously puts out for free in videos, my personal favs include flo(a)w amongst others), since following Idos work and reading Nassim Taleb I have also been working on many disciplines to keep my dispersion of physical interests sufficiently diverse (like city states haha). To put it in quasi-Talebian terms, the ability to sacrifice a single discipline to the whole (e.g judo to movement) is analogous to sacrificing the individual restaurant to the quality level of food provided by the entire industry). Anyway - I know theyve already been tagged - but I would love to hear about the dynamic duo of Phillip and Martina Chubb.
