Hey, did I tell you Ive been dabbling in computer music on the side? I finished my first song, which (in the great tradition of all songwriters) I already hate. I like the second half pretty well but I confess stealing liberally from Timbaland. (Also, it makes no sense unless you listen to it on high-quality speakers or headphones. I knew intellectually that it takes special effort to make music make sense on laptop or car speakers, but Im surprised at the magnitude of the effect.) Huge thanks to Mark Reveley. He wrote an epic instructional email that got me started in the first place. Im including it below in the hopes that it inspires someone like John-Patrick Whitaker, Mark Rossetti, Eric Levin or .
