Hey everybody! Okay, here is the 10-Question Interview about our fantazzzmic opening DJ act, Globalruckus: 1) What do you do? DJ global bass music of all types from around the world. I love music of all types and […] will just as happily play a bhangra, cumbia, or Balkan set for a show as I would play an electro-swing set, but have to say that electro-swing always has the happiest faces in the crowd and some of the craziest dancers. 2) How long have you been doing it? 16 years. 3) What other activities have you done or do you do now? Jump stilting, choral singing, and ran an indie record label! 4) Who are you inspired by in your art? No one person, the world is my muse. 5) What is a fact about your life that we may find surprising? I was “He Man of the issue” for He Man Magazine for saving a deer that fell through the ice on a frozen lake. (WHOA! Good guy to have around!:) 6) Do you have any pre-performance rituals? Making sure I have fresh tracks for my set. 7) What is your favorite place to eat in Portland and why? Euro Food Cart for their perogis, because they are nearly as good as mom makes. 8) Summary of a rediculous story from a show or tour you? My first appearance in the Bay Area, at the American Steel Warehouse, was cut-short 10 minutes before I was about to start due to the police shutting down the party. Later that night I DJed a set by hacking into a juke box at the Department of Combustion work space. 9) What are you hoping to bring to the ElectroSwing Live! show and audience?? (face-melting, etc) Hot, fresh, sweat-inducing beats and a packed dance floor. 10) Any other particularly awesome goals? I aspire to be in the Olympics for skiing for a small Caribbean island, if I can procure citizenship.
