Hey everyone - there are many people here who i love and care about and who love and care about me so i figure here is a good place to inform you of my unfortunate news. In about 2 -3 weeks i will be begin undergoing an aggressive regimen of radiation and chemotherapy for cancer in the nasopharynx (space behind the nose). i have an excellent prognosis - theyre saying i have up to 93% of being cured - cancer free after the treatment. Treatment for Head Neck Cancers however is hell and rife with really crappy side effects. i am ready for the fight though of course terrified. The burlesque community created a FB page called Support Our Staxx. if anyone here would like to be part of my circle of support and healing let me know here or pm me and i would love to add you. its a rollercoaster - some days i am sad and cry and worry about the future and that ill be a shell of who i am after this; other days i am full of positivity and am in warrior mode. Overall, i am in a good frame of mind. I KNOW i will beat this and win and be a stronger, healthier person. To paraphrase Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead (who i now cant go see at Lockn in September dammit!) - I will have my way/ I will tear this cancer down. its a squatter and i am going to kick it out of my sacred temple! FU NPC!!!
