Hey everyone, I just posted some photos from my mission trip to India. Most of these photos are mine, but some arent because I had my phone stolen on the last day of the trip. Luckily I was able to recover lots of them. Im sorry I havent had much time to post about my experience. I want to say thank you to those who helped me go on this trip, it means more than you know. Im going to talk a little bit about my experience since I know some people are quite curious. Ive always had desire to help people and to see the world, so this was perfect for me. I stayed in a few different cities in northern India, but I mostly stayed in Dharamsala, India. Dharamsala is a city of thousands of people from Tibet. The reason these people came to India is because China is slowly taking over Tibet. The world hardly knows, but over 40 million Tibetans have died in the last 70 years due to the Chinese government taking over. They have kidnapped political leaders, and has told the world to officially remove Tibet from the world map, and they are successful. You cant find this information on the internet as the Chinese have controlled this, and the internet is illegal in all of China except for Hong Kong. The Tibetans do not fight back because of there life views. If we go to war, there is no winner. Peace is the only victory. These Tibetans have moved to Dharamsala in hope of freedom. Dharamsala is the Tibetan Government in exile, home of Dalai Lama. We learned so much about global issues and how to resolve them. I hope to pursue this sort of work for the rest of my life. I spend 3 weeks teaching 5th grade children. Every morning I would wake up & walk about a mile to the school. My students would stand up and say Good Morning Sir every single morning with the hugest smile. This never got old, as I would do almost anything to be able to hear them greet me once more. After our daily lesson, they would clap for me. These children have more respect than any children Ive ever seen. They were shy at first, but it only took a few days for them to become comfortable with me. It makes me wonder why the USA lacks such heart, respect, and warmth in schools. Not to mention our lesson on Tibetan Medicine compared to the medicine in the USA. Natural medicine vs Chemical medicine. Where is the logic? I never once got homesick, I felt completely at home, even though India is as far as it gets away from Colorado. Thats about all Im going to say for now, i would be happy to share more of the experience with those who are curious. This was the most incredible trip of my life (so far) and I thank you all so much for helping me go. Ill go back someday, even if I gotta swim. Its true that India is one of the most colorful places in the world, but its true color lies in the hearts of the people.
