Hey everyone! My agency, Leake and Watts, just got a huge contract with the city to open up a new Limited Secure Placement program. This is a brand new, very exciting program working with juvenile offenders with the goal of providing treatment to prevent the youth from becoming victims of the system. There are a LOT of new positions opening up as a result, in both the Bronx and Brooklyn. There are some mental health clinician positions (more individual focus) and some family worker positions. If interested, please email me with your resume and cover letter and which position you are interested in at [email protected] Here are the job descriptions: Mental Health Clinician (Brooklyn, Bronx, and one floating between the two boroughs): DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: (some of the duties are as follows) The Mental Health Clinician will provide a full range of therapy and casework services to adjudicated youth at a 20 bed Limited Secure Placement (LSP) Program in Brooklyn. Limited Secure Placement is part of a groundbreaking initiative to provide services and supports for juvenile justice involved youth in residential placement facilities closer to their families, communities and schools. Serve as a primary therapist to provide specific interventions including: reviewing and integrating specific assessment information to write and monitor treatment plans, reviewing and revising treatment plans as necessary, and providing clinical support to other LSP staff including trainings. • Facilitates individual, family, and specialized group therapy and documents these processes. • Complete assessments on treatment progress. • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans. • Participates in conferences regarding youth/family behavior, diagnosis, and progress as a member of the treatment planning team. • Interprets programmatic treatment needs for staff members and assists with providing and implementing the integrated services. • Assists in the development and implementation of the clinical program, which includes individual/group counseling and scheduled daily programmatic activities. • Ensures all documentation is completed in a timely manner and meets regulatory compliance, including those of ACS, OCFS, and the courts. • Assists with case planning, progress reviews, transition planning and advocacy for youth. • May provide limited case management services. • May represent the resident and the program/facility at judicial hearings. • Performs discharge and transition activities to ensure coordination of service delivery throughout the youth’s commitment in the agency. • Evening and weekends hours requirements • Performs other related work as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • LCSW Preferred • LMSW • Substance abuse counseling experience (CASAC) preferred • Experience working with court involved youth • Professional experience in the treatment of juveniles which involved group or individual counseling techniques may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required degree • Excellent writing and organizational skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus FAMILY WORKER (Brooklyn, Bronx, and floating between the 2) DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: (Some of the duties are included below) The Family Worker /Social Worker provides a wide range of services and supports to youth and their families while you are residing in Limited Secure Placement (LSP) facilities in Brooklyn and the Bronx. The Family Worker will carry a caseload of youth and families at two different LSP sites, spending half their time at each site. Each LSP is a 20 bed program for adjudicated youth. Limited Secure Placement is part of a groundbreaking initiative to provide services and supports for juvenile justice involved youth in residential placement facilities closer to their families, communities and schools. The Family Worker provides a range of services to youth and families where there are behavior problems such as delinquency, chemical dependency, uncontrollability, runaway, or truancy involving the youth. Focus will be on assisting families overcome problems they are experiencing which may have resulted in the Juvenile Court intervention. The Family Worker with parents /care taker, youth and LSP staff coordinates to facilitate needed changes regarding the youth and family. • Determines and addresses needed family interventions and supports, and make referrals to appropriate services inter –agency and community based • Provides individual and family therapy to youth and families • Meet all LSP family related case management reqquiments • Conducts home assessments and mandated supervised home visits • Maintains communication with youth counselor staff • Assist with the development of discharge plans with LSP team, youth, and family • Coordinate with aftercare services • Participates in service plan conferences • Participates in staff meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, and planning meetings • Prepares for and testifies in court, preliminary hearings, multi-disciplinary team meetings, family partnership meetings. • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner • Weekend and evening hours required • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualification: • MSW or equivalent human services degree (preferred) with documented experience in family engagement and treatment - LMSW preferred. • Excellent writing and organizational skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite • Current and Clean driver’s license • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
