Hey everyone!! Since Emma is away I get to run our next go night thats happening tomorrow. The idea will be to not only talk about and pray for people who are in need, but to actually go out and do something practical for them. We will be focusing on the many refugees seeking asylum here in Australia at the moment. There are some great organisations and churches doing some amazing things to try and help them and the idea is for us to get involved too and partner with them in showing the love of Jesus. Heres a link to the specific organisation well be partnering with: simplelove.au Through Simple Love, churches are able to collect and donate groceries and other everyday items to the Asylum Seekers Centre and House of Welcome. These organisations distribute the grocery items to asylum seekers in the community. So heres the plan. Were hoping that you (and your parents) would really dig deep and contribute some money towards this goal. Bring the money to Youth Group. Once here, well put all the contributions together and then split you into groups. Well give you a list of the things that can be purchased, well give plenty of green shopping bags, and then well all go to Woolies or Coles and fill those green bags with groceries that well be giving to Simple Love. What I love about this whole thing is that it really is a Simple way to show our Love! So just to summarize: Be at church at same time of 6:30pm Come prepared to give some money to the project. Come prepared to go and serve refugees escaping persecution and other dangers.
