Hey everyone, Theres been another update, mainly just to continue to clarify some recent situations thatve come up and keep the drift between the written system and how were actually playing it to a minimum. Ill run through the more important of these briefly before the next event. As always the full text is are on the website, which is, for now, still at throughagamebackwards.co.uk/antics.html. Heres a changelog: Significant Changes (new content or changes to how things work): The safewords of RED, YELLOW, and FRAK have been added. TIME FAFF has been officially added. Silent communication between players (aka Telepathy) has been officially added. Minor Changes (which explain a novel situation or bring the written system in line with how we actually play): REFLECT is a meta-call. This is a macro of DODGED, [original call repeated back at target]. (Currently relevant for one character) REWIND affects recharge timers and ability usage. (This is slightly awkward, but desired to keep the rewound situation identical to the first run. Well keep an eye on this one.) If you take a BURN call while already under the effect of a BURN, take ONE as normal and use the longer duration. (Two characters have repeatable short duration BURNs now.) OOC is now OC. (How its generally being played, and I hate unnecessary syllables) We now have an Infrequently Asked Questions page at throughagamebackwards.co.uk/ifaq.html. Thisll be occasionally updated to cover some of the weirder questions we get asked. Clarifications (which have been announced during events): If a target doesnt respond in any way to an ability aimed at them, most likely because they didnt hear, the user may continue as if the ability wasnt used. This doesnt apply to MASS abilities, which are always expended when you call them. As a call, DRAIN has no specific interaction with EMPOWER. However, sources of strong DRAIN effects may also be able to remove the effects of EMPOWERs. When determining whether to respond positively or negatively to a SCAN, imagine what response an impartial and omniscient external observer would give. Your characters view of themselves isnt relevant unless specifically called upon (e.g. SCAN Guilty Thoughts). Hope thats clear, as always if you have any questions, let me know. See you Friday! :D
