Hey everyone, its Dakota Joe, dontcha know! It is now 4/03 and I am in Buena Vista, Va. I ate an entire box of Frosted Flakes and a half gallon of milk befor buying my resupply at the Food Lion here in town. The last two days have been long and brutal on my feet. The terrain has become rocky and my new boots are breaking in so my feet are blistered for the first time in 800 miles. 800 miles, wow, already? Some other Northbounders, Roadrunner and Pan have caught up to me and they are in beast mode hiking with no zero days. I heard Hutch was still on trail and that Phil and Sunny are somewhere behind me. There are a lot of hikers in our area at the moment, but I am trying to catch back up with Hudson. I talked to him today and he is a town ahead of me. I miss him. I am going at my own pace at the moment. I dont feel the need to run to Katahdin and I dont see it as a race either. Also, I keep hearing about these bragging rights of finishing the trail. 5 year old Buddy Backpacker did the trail, so there goes your bragging rights, right? WELCOME TO THE A.T.: IT IS SO EASY A 5 YEAR OLD DID IT. Makes you not want to give up though. I love it out here and that is all that matters to me. I dont care when I get there, I just want to get there, and get back to Springer. I promise I wont brag. #keepthedreamalive
