Hey everyone, since the topic of vaporizers have become something of a hot button issue, I wanted to start a fresh thread to start approaching a solution thats as equitable as possible to everyone concerned. The previous thread was removed at the original posters request. Vaporizer usage is up from previous years and there is a concern that excessive indoor use could negatively impact attendees who may have allergies to the vapors, or are uncomfortable with the smell of it. First, we will be checking with the hotel on their feelings on widespread usage with our usual attendance numbers. RJ from the previous thread had contacted the hotel and they, at the present moment, are okay with individual usage, but I think a more thorough dialogue with them would be helpful. Secondly, Im crafting an initial policy/guideline as to the conventions approach on vaporizer usage, and the bare bones of it would read that while we appreciate that vaporizer users have less restrictions on them than cigarette smokers, we would appreciate it if vapers would get the permission of those around them before they take a puff, and also refrain from using them in tight spaces. Some of our staff has also expressed the concern of usage of vaporizers in the registration lobby, citing a concern about airflow. This may include a guideline to refrain from usage in certain areas.
