Hey everyone... so I wrote this opera... its called NORTON: A Civil War Opera, and it premieres April 4-13 with Loudoun Lyric Opera. You should definitely go to loudounlyricopera and get some tickets. Its got a little something for everyone. Its serious and intense at times, and its funny at times. There are parts with lyrical lines and spirituals and bits of folksongs, and then in other places we rock hard and intense. Its got thought-provoking words and a really interesting story (based on true story of the fascinating soldier who first played Taps) by Meredith Bean McMath and amazing singing by too many singers to mention, including Michael Forest, Melissa Chavez, Daniel Sherwood, Natalie Barrens-Rogers, Scott Thomas, Bryan Jackson, Philip Sargent, Gregory Stuart, Hillary LaBonte, Simon Charette, Jeffrey Luksik, Scott Tousley, with instrumentalists Alex Johnson, Tom Valdez, and Tyler Garner.
