Hey fellow grad students! Ive been seeing stuff pop up about NaNoWriMo coming up and envying the sort of support it offers for creative writers. I took to the internet and wondered aloud if such a thing was available for nonfiction writers. Stephanie Opfer answered in the affirmative, and pointed me toward this: phd2published/2012/10/15/announcing-acwrimo/ So, my question to my fellow grad students is, would you be interested in pursuing such a thing? If so, would you like to do so in the company of your fellow grad students? Im envisioning something like this: -We each set out individual writing goals, and individual steps toward fulfilling those goals. -We meet, perhaps weekly, to discuss our progress / be accountability buddies. - We set up a FB group to check-in as needed. We could use this for proposals, drafts of articles, chapters of dissertations, whatever we might need. My other thought is this: if November is too insane for us to do this, we could perhaps do it in January. (Im assuming December would also be insane.) But then again, my procrastination awareness leads me to believe there will never be a perfect month. Anyway, your thoughts?
