Hey festie family...on the heels of the release of some recent PR featuring a white performer in Indigenous headdress, I am bringing forward a request that we pay attention to some knowledge that some of you may not be aware of yet. Native headdress is a restricted item. It must be treated as such if we are to be in harmony with the Indigenous peoples of these lands. There is a request that is being made across the nations for respect of Indigenous ways. It is incumbent upon us to step forward in support of our Indigenous community members, family, loved ones. In Canada a festival has been groundbreaking in creating true movement toward basic respect for Indigenous ways. What if WE moved forward in a similar manner? I bring this to your attention with love, and concern for the greater good. Lets all be in this together.
