Hey folks; I thought I would respond more widely to an fb entry - TopicsExpress

Hey folks; I thought I would respond more widely to an fb entry from a friend from elementary school. He responded to a fb entry from me about Obamacare. It really does not matter what he specifically said, but the main point is that I was regurgitating what I received from watching Fox news. He made a reference to auto insurance and its comparison to Obamacare and that we should do away with Car insurance as well. This type of thinking is what has us in trouble. It seems that most of us, that would be 51% or higher have forgotten our U.S. History. I have not. When this country was originally concieved each state was to be like its own country. The only involvement with thle federal government was, first voluntary, secondly only on matters that were interstate. Today that should amount to Federal Highways, U.S. Military, Air space, national commerce and that sort of thing. The federal government began taxing because certain states would not pay their fare share. it did sound good at the time. It was a power grab even then. They have not stopped since. The states that either could not or would not pay, should have not received Federal help. If they could not pay for some reason a more seasonable solution could have been devised. I personally use credit some times. Not often. Car insurance is still a state by state controlled thing and was designed to protect those you hit in a wreck, in order to, as much as possible, set them back right again. You, in I think, all states do not have to buy insurance to cover your car. You are not mandated to buy car insurance, especially if you do not own a ca. I do not own a car and therefore do not need car insurance. i have not had health insurance for most of my life. My current employer has it as an incentive for good employees. I pay my own way on medical expenses. even if I have to borrow the money. My current employer will be dropping that insurance because of the expense of the mandates. It will cost me 371.00 a month to go through the exchanges, unless something changes. I can not afford that every month. The biggest problem I have with it is , 1. it is federally mandated. They have no business in that area of our lives, no matter how good it may look. 2. It is not about health insurance, no matter how it may look. It is about control. History has proven this, time and time again. The Federal Government has gone way to far in to our states business. It may look good, but can never come to a good end. Again, there is a serious amount of history to back this up. I did learn this from Ruch Limbaugh, which will be the next charge against me, I am a thinking, knowledgeable man and figured this out long ago at the advent of Medicare and said the same thing way back then. Thanks for your time and consideration. Greg Ritch
