Hey, folks! Its June, and guess what?! Kitten season is officially here! What is kitten season you ask?? Well, its the time from late spring to late summer when the most kittens are born and in many cases either left to fend for themselves (often living in feral colonies) or brought to local animal shelters. With kitten season comes an overwhelming burden of care that is placed on those shelters. To help, please consider donations of Purina Kitten Chow, quality canned cat food, and Tidy Cats Breathe Easy cat litter. Or please consider being a foster home to a litter of kittens in need. We often have litters of sick kittens or babies that need bottle fed and require extra love and nurturing. Here are a few tired statistics that we are going to reiterate one more time: 1. A female cat has the ability to reproduce at the age of FIVE MONTHS OLD, when she isnt even done growing yet!! 2. Theoretically, a cat is able to have as many as THREE litters of kittens a year!! 3. An unaltered cat has on average TWELVE kittens a year!! Mathematically this number has exponential growth when you multiply all of those cats then having their own kittens!! 4. The solution is EASY and more ECONOMICAL!! 5. Please SPAY and NEUTER your pets!! To spay and neuter your animals saves many lives! Lets stop participating in a culture of throw away pets and become part of the solution!
