Hey folks, just a reminder that the UBC Journal of Political Studies is currently hiring student editors for the 2014-2015 school year. Interested parties should apply via e-mail to editor.ubcpssa@gmail. Deadline: Sunday, September 21st at 5 pm. Heres the text from the editor call-out, including application information: We are looking for third-year and fourth-year students to fill our Editorial Board. Student editors solicit submissions, select/edit articles for publication, and promote the journal on campus. The time commitment is approximately five hours per week - some weeks more, most weeks less. This is an excellent opportunity to not only be involved with one of the premier undergraduate research journals in the country, but also to gain valuable experience in academic writing, editing and publishing. Please note that editors are still eligible to submit papers for publication. Please include the following in your application email: > A short introduction to yourself > Your particular interests in political science > Why you want to get involved with the JPS > Any skills or experience you feel you can contribute to the position > Optional: Resume, cover letter and a term paper or class assignment as a writing sample Successful applicants will demonstrate an avid interest in political research, analysis and theory, and an excellent command of English composition and grammar. Formal editing experience is an asset but not required. Note that all JPS editorial positions are volunteer, but reference letters may be provided at the end of the year for proficient editors.
