Hey friends, Here is an update I just published on the crowdfunding page: wethetrees/campaigns/rosemary-morrow-s-teaching-permaculture-teachers --------------------------------- Dear campaign supporters, First, a big *THANKS* for supporting the creation of a digital platform to share Rosemary’s accumulated knowledge and skills around teaching with anyone in the world who has access to the internet. We are very grateful for this support. We are now halfway through the campaign, and have raised a little under one third of our goal ($4,295 raised out of $15,365 through 65 contributions), with 25 days left to go. We know that we can do better, and we know that Rosemary’s work is important to you, so we ask that you share this campaign with your friends, colleagues, and family. The middle of a crowdfunding campaign is often a slow point, and we are asking everyone we know and everyone who wants to see permaculture spread rapidly and effectively around the world to pitch in and help spread the word. Below are some suggestions for how to help the campaign. For those of you who have been students or worked with Rowe, one of the easiest ways to help is to write to your people and post on social media about your experiences with her. For instance, I wrote about how when I took a teacher’s training course with her, she helped me to get out of the rigid thinking that good teaching only means “chalk and talk”—pouring my would-be bright ideas into the empty vessels that are the students—and instead see the empowering possibilities of learner-centred learning, where every course participant is encouraged and empowered to share their knowledge and experience. An inspiring part of the digital platform we will create will be the support available for anyone who wants to teach permaculture. In conjunction with Rowe’s books “Earth User’s Guide to Permaculture” and “Earth User’s Guide to Teaching Permaculture”, the videos and manual for the Teaching Permaculture Teachers (TPT) course will provide invaluable tools and structure for teaching any kind of permaculture course in particular or teaching any subject in general. The TPT course that I took was what gave me the courage and confidence that I needed to start teaching, without it I would likely have not taken the jump from being a practitioner to a teacher. And as Rosemary believes, one of the biggest bottlenecks to the spread of permaculture worldwide is more people to make that simple but daunting jump. So if you havent already, please take a moment to spread word of this campaign to your networks via email, phone, and social media such as Facebook and blogs. We have been emailing our friends to suggest specific reward levels that they may want, and explaining that the contributions of those in the world who can make financial donations will allow those who cannot to have access to this valuable information and teaching tools. We really need to keep up the momentum for the next 25 days—so please spread the word! And thanks again for your support, let’s keep this going. —Alfred for the Rosemary Morrow TPT Digital Platform Team Here are some suggestions for how people can help the campaign: * Make a donation, big or small! ;-) * Share this campaign webpage, as well as the Facebook page and the working group
