Hey gear nerds, I updated the Sludge Studios pickup shootout on my SoundCloud with a bunch of 8-string clips and WFAHM - Temple riffage! I compared the following pickups: -DiMarzio D Activator 8 -Seymour Duncan Distortion 8 -Lundgren M8 @ 27 -Lundgren M8 @ 29.4 I figured Id add the 29.4 Lundgren clip as a bonus for all of you to see how much of a difference a longer scale neck can make. I just got the M80M back from a setup at the Meinl/Ibanez headquarters and after rocking it in D# standard for a while, I ultimately decided to tune it back up to F to reap the benefits of higher tension with lower gauge strings. I started re-recording some tracks I had previously recorded with my RG2228A and the difference is pretty damn obvious, so I wanna share that with you. More pickups coming soon...
