Hey, get this, Ive been studying Japanese, and I finally came across the days (again), but since Ive been looking up all the kanji this time as I come across them, I went and checked these out - each day consists of 3 kanji, and the last two are always (in this case) pronounced you-bi, which are day-counter respectively, but get this, each day is as follows: Monday : getsu-you-bi : month-day Tuesday : kai-you-bi : fire-day Wednesday : sui-you-bi : water-day Thursday : moku-you-bi : tree-day Friday : kin-you-bi : gold-day Saturday : do-you-bi : soil-day (and get this, the kanji looks like a line with a cross above it, just like a grave, Id bet you this one has Christian roots) Sunday : nichi-you-bi : sun-day PS - pronounciation guide: a : ahh e : eh? i : ee o : ou u : uu unlike in English, each vowel sound only gets a single beat to it, under normal circumstances, the vowel sound cant be stretched out like in English, if its supposed to be held longer, it will be spelt that way, case and point: biru = building; biiru = beer. Another example would be ie = house; iie = no Same thing goes with consonants: roku = 6; rokku = Japanese pronounciation of the English word rock
