Hey girl... I just came across something that I thought you might enjoy... Im about to call Granny and ask her about it, as I am not sure where it came from. I was looking through my moms sewing box to find a button to put on a diaper cover that I made my daughter, and I came across this teeny tiny piece of paper that has a baby afghan written out on it. I would think that it came from our great-grandmother and was given to Granny. ((Grannys mom, not pop-pops...)) I just thought it was too cool, so I shared it onto the crochet crowds facebook and tried to tag you in it, but it kept bringing up Jessica Beil instead of you! lol here is what I posted --> By the way, I just found something that I thought was incredibly awesome, and I HAD to share it with yall........ I was looking for a button to put on a diaper cover that I crocheted for my baby girl, and I was looking through my moms sewing box... Inside, I found this pattern on this little tiny piece of paper, written in tiny handwriting, that I am guessing my great or great-great grandmother wrote it out... It is simply named the Afghan -Baby Afghan - 30 inches... Id LOVE for someone to try it out!!! **NOTE -- a shell is 6 dc in the same stitch. So - here it is! Chain 118. (24 shells across... Work 2 rows of SCs in a contrasting color, working 3 SCs in each corner. EDGING--> Starting at the 3rd stitch from the corner, work 1 sc *skip 2 stitches, 6 dc in the next. skip 2 stitches, 1 SC in the next.; repeat from around entire cover, skipping only 1 stitch at corners. I know that the way that I just typed that out probably doesnt sound a lot like a professional pattern, and its because its not. This is a pattern that goes back somewhere in my Italian family that someone wrote out, for probably my Grandmother (who taught me to crochet =]
