Hey good morning folks, I hope all is well with everyone and for those of us who are out on patrol be safe and youre in my prayers. For those of us who are done for the day getting some much needed rest or whatnot I too pray your day will be smooth. I had a conversation with a officer who was attending a class at the school where I work and he asked me how come I never joined any of the black police organization that are in the metro area. ( He was black and worked for a bigger agency). I explained it as I would any one else who ask in this manner: The bible says this.... There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 2:11 Whenever people see me the only thing they should see is the badge and what it represents. Truth be known in the area I work I am the only black officer. But, Im not treated any differently than any other officers there! I told this officer that my badge does not say For the black folks of Oklahoma Nor does it say For the white folks of Oklahoma it says for The citizens in the city, county and state of Oklahoma....Period! If a fellow officer is in need of help be he/she black, blue or purple we are all blue when the call comes! I have zero tolerance for those who segregate themselves by color yet we all took the same oath! God has put all of us who serve and protect in the assigned areas we are chosen to be in. I put it to you this way....Out of all the officers who couldve been placed here in the agencies you and I were blessed to work at how good it is that God picked us to be there....In those places....For his people! No, I dont do the color thing unless its OSU then I bleed orange! But, when I put my uniform on Im but one color.........Blue! :D Stay blessed folks! KW
