Hey guys. Here is my latest and this one is for Josie Pepe - TopicsExpress

Hey guys. Here is my latest and this one is for Josie Pepe Garofalo at her request. This is another Farruca style piece but much heavier since its written in Baroque/polyphonic style. What that means is that music is generally written with a melody (subject) and accompaniment. Baroque style differs because there is essentially no accompaniment. There is also more than one melody or subject. I have written it in 5 part guitar style (4 melodies and 1 accompaniment) where all the melodies/subject together and by careful manipulation from the composer, all form harmonic contrast. This means that you are listening to 4 melodies at once. In order to make it a little more appealing, I have recorded a live accompaniment on the guitar. I have tried to do this as faintly as I can so it does not overpower the rest of the melodies. WARNING: This music is NOT for everyone because it is complex as well as hard to listen to and is also known to be the most difficult style of music ever created... it can also be draining because it is generally used with a Flamenco dancer where the visual allows the music to be less imposing. A Flamenco Farruca is a seduction style music. I think Josies musical ear may be able to absorb its content and if YOU, yes, YOU, whos reading this finds it somewhat enjoyable, then there is a high chance that you have more then just a musical bone in your body. Please enjoy. Hugs.
