Hey guys! Heres a recap on everything we went over on Thursday... Movements: Ginga - everything stems from the ginga Cocorinha - squats Negativa - leg out Negativa de Angola - lean to the side, head close to floor Rolé (ho-lay) - spin to a standing position Esquiva lateral - escape to the left and right. Esquiva de frente - squat down, one leg straight out behind, one palm on the floor, other hand up protecting face. Aú - cartwheel Kicks Bençao - straight kick forward, contact with bottom of foot Meia lua de frente - step, kick leg in a half moon shape in front Queixada - front foot steps diagonally to the side, back foot step in, front leg kicks up and over and lands behind. Elements of the game Berimbau - African instrument that dictates the nature of the game. I believe this was the bulk of what we covered.
