Hey guys, Ryan here, Just wanted to thank all of you guys for your support as it has been really great and much appreciated.I will say, it was very scary and your guys support made it easier. Thanks you so much. Just bit of an update, I originally went into hospital for Mucositis which is a very painful inflammation and ulceration of the mucous membranes lining of the digestive tract, which stopped me from eating and drinking. Thats was what my pain pump was for. However, a day later my stomach very rapidly grew and was so bad radiated pain to my back and shoulder. The cover doctor came up and examined me, when they decided to check my lipase which is an enzyme of the pancreas, the pancreas is a gland organ in the digestive and endocrine system of vertebrates. It produces important hormones, including insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin, as well as an exocrine gland, secreting pancreatic juice containing digestive enzymes (lipase) that pass to the small intestine. The normal range of lipase is 50, mine was 3500.When you have high levels of lipase the enzymes they tend to digestive the pancreas, damaging it. You can not live without a pancreas, and a pancreas transplant is rare. The next morning my blood pressure dropped, heart rate all over the place hitting a low of 10 when I passed out remembering several nurses trying to fluid resuscitate me, as well as 20doctors all hovering and working on me. That night I woke up in ICU. I got discharged today, however we have sadly had to move away from the lovely Leukaemia Foundation to a closer unit thats right by the hospital. This is due to my high risk condition. While testing, doctors have also found a series of other complications... A clot in my heart due to the port which has since been removed, I am now having to jab myself daily with a blood thinner which should help to dissolve the clot. They also have found a very rare bacteria in my lung called nacodia beijingsis which I will have to take 6 weeks of IV antibiotics and then 1year of oral antibiotics. Today I weighed in at 82 the lightest Ive been, loosing another 12kg in 2 weeks. I feel reasonably ok, very tired and de conditioned, and still have a swollen stomach and high lipase but stable. Thanks so much guys for everything. Will update again soon.
