Hey guys So after attending Kin Con on Saturday, and bearing - TopicsExpress

Hey guys So after attending Kin Con on Saturday, and bearing first hand witness to a cosplay wardrobe malfunction, just thought Id share a little tip with regards to anything made of EVA/SVA foam. As a rule, whenever I make any armor out of foam, if there is a seam, or some part of the armor that is going to take strain, and possibly tear, I will reinforce that area with some duct tape. What I will do, is I will spread some contact glue , approximately the width of the duct tape Ill be using along the seam/stress area, on the inside of the armor and then wait for it to cure and get tacky (usually 5-10 minutes), and then apply some duct tape on the area. The adhesive of the duct tape sticks to the contact glue like nobodys business, adding extra strength to a possibly weak area. The attached image is of the seam on the inside of a breastplate I made for use in LARPing. 2 years later, and several battles and more than a few tumbles, its still going strong.
