Hey guys So today is 12 weeks since my open heart surgery. Time for me to move into the next chapter in my life. Ive shared everything with u guys and the support has been incredible. Its therapy talking out loud and sharing and there are some things a lot of you did not know. On the day of the operation the anesthesiologist shared the risks involved and how many things could contribute to me not making it thru. I was told to sort out my affairs, will and testament and say goodbye to my family. This was crippling, seeing my wife in tears and almost on the floor was the heaviest part of this whole ordeal. My strong wife then went straight to work and carried on, trying to be strong for her family and taking care of our 2 kids like the champ she is. My mother had flown up from CT to lend a hand and help us out for a couple of weeks ( Love u mom) The 2 of them were at Sunninghill hospital waiting to hopefully hear good news after my 8 hour opp. The surgeon approached Fiona and my mom looked at them and then turned and walked away. They followed him to find out of opp was a success, he then recognized them and said to my wife to sit down ( not the best approach) Anyway news was good and I had survived the surgery. My wife was a rock thru this whole ordeal, she came to the hospital 3 times a day with family photos to put on the wall, goodies and most importantly a huge smile. Everyday Im asked about my recovery and my pain and I want to say to you all, ask my wife how she is doing, ask her how she is feeling because she went thru as mush pain and suffering as I did if not more. My wife handled this whole ordeal with aplomb. As a supportive wife and mother she excelled beyond, she deserves the praises and if anyone was an inspiration it was her. Being this strong for her husband and her kids is something Im not sure I would have been able to handle the way she did. Fiona, once again I thank you. We all need special people in our lives, for that I am truly blessed!
