Hey guys a person has contacted AUGS who is looking for a field assistant next week, it would be a great chance to get some experience under the belt so just call the number for any questions of if you are interested. The message was sent to us below. Hi, Strange request of the day - my husband (Martin Towner, cc’d in here) is currently in South Australia on behalf of Curtin’s Desert Fireball Network (a major meteorite tracking project) - he’s supposed to be visiting field stations to set up new cameras for the network. However, the Adelaide volunteer who was accompanying him has had to pull out a day into the trip due to a family emergency - which means unless Martin can find someone on the ground who would be willing to volunteer in the guy’s place, he’s going to have to abort (he’s currently stuck in Port Augusta with a loaded truck). So it’s a very long shot, but do you know of anyone in your organisations / field volunteers who could head off into the field for 5 days, leaving this weekend?
