Hey if you have a little time I have a story for you. Back in the day when I was a small child, my dad believed he was this big fisherman, and he belonged to the Santa Monica Rod & Reel Club. Every year they had a father & son get together in Lake Havasu City, Arizona to take the kids fishing to Black Meadows. It was about a 3 to 4 day deal. My dad thought he was this big bass fisherman, but we either got skunked or caught little fish. We never caught any big fish. So the last hours of my dad’s life he called me on the phone and said “so I have a favor to ask” and I asked what it was, and he said “I decided to be cremated and I would like you to spread my ashes on the lake so that I could be near you”, and I said “Dad I will do it under 1 condition”, and he said “what’s that”, and I said “When I’m out on the lake fishing you have to bring the big ones to me” and he said “Its handled”. The next day he had passed away and was gone. Now growing up in the business my best friend over 50 years was Greg Belda. His mother had bought 3 ski boats from us. My dad and Greg were like father and son. When we went up to spread my dad’s ashes in the lake Greg Belda was there. Greg Belda spread some of my dad’s ashes and he had formally named the cove Big AL’s Cove. Well this last Saturday I put Greg Belda’s ashes in Big AL’s Cove. One day when my life comes to an end I will be joining them in Big AL’s Cove.
