Hey, moms, out there... Im soliciting your help for ideas...ideas - TopicsExpress

Hey, moms, out there... Im soliciting your help for ideas...ideas on what to pack in my kids lunches. The post below is something similar to what I did last year. The premise being, you have a dry bin of pre-packaged foods (that you prep and pre-package yourself on the weekend), and a cold bin of pre-packaged foods. I wasnt routine enough with this...some weekends I was just too lazy to do the prepping. But, the weeks that I did do the prepping, things ran a lot smoother in the morning! :) However, my repertoire of food ideas was slim, and my kids started getting bored of the same old types of foods. I was hoping moms could post their ideas for their dry bin and their cold bin. Even if you dont do bins, what kinds of things did you pack for your kids lunches last year? :) It would be great to have a library of ideas. Ill start with my list: In my dry bin I had... Those honey pretzel sticks from Trader Joes Those vegetable sticks (also from Trader Joes)..you know, the ones that look like French fries? Sunflower seeds Cashews (Some schools wont allow any nuts. (Insert pun here.) So, youll have to check with your school.) :) Pistachios Cheerios (or any dry finger-food cereal) Cheeze-Its Those alphabet cookies from Trader Joes (Im not claiming to be super healthy mom. Thats why Im hoping you all will post your lists so I can have healthier alternatives.) The fruit leather strips from Costco In my cold bin I had: (This bin is more difficult for me. I have a harder time coming up with ideas for proteins, and the cold foods.) String cheese Go-gurts Yoplait yogurt cups Yakult pro-biotic drinks Cheese sticks Mandarin orange fruit cups (or mixed fruit cups) If I think of more, I will add them. :) Help me out, Sistas! :)
