Hey pals. I have a social security question. Client has a daughter that is severe. She has been determined eligible for SSI at the $700 rate, however, they took all the household expenses and divided by 4 (her husband, herself, her non-disabled daughter at home and the daughter on SSI) and deemed the household costs to exceed her income, thus, the mother is contributing to her income and they reduced the SSI down the difference between her SSI and the four pack amount. My suggestion (since food was estimated at $200) was to get her daughter with dis on food stamps, thus increasing her assets. Other ideas of how to help her push the SSI up to the max? Also, the daughter is paying mom rent. I worry about the mom needing to declare rental income. How do you all address that? D
