Hey, people! So, here is my essay about Caraga. Our English teacher told us to post our essay here. May I request everyone to like this if you like it, comment here, critics are allowed, and if you like to share, please do share this. Thats all, thank you! CARAGA, You Have It All! The region located at the north-eastern part of the 2nd biggest island of the Philippines is known nationwide and worldwide for having places that have nicknames like “Surfing Capital of the Philippines”, “Mining Capital of the Philippines”, “Timber City of the South”, and the “Home of the Biggest Crocodile of the World”. Having many liquid mirrors of the sky, superb ups and downs of the lithosphere, dainty foods, especially seafood, marked history, and a twist of mystery, CARAGA is attracting people to have a taste of pleasure in this well-known region. CARAGA has 5 eye-opening regions: Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Dinagat Islands. Now, let’s have a mind tour of this region where the sun smiles first at you every morning. Imagine letting yourself feel the warmth of the sand and the cool feeling of the glimmering water, that’s what Surigao del Norte feels being at the north-eastern edge of Mindanao. It consists of 2 districts, the mainland and the island called Siargao Island. Invite the horses of the sea to chase you in General Luna. Be careful if you want to be a rocket plunging to the Magpupungko Rocky Pool of Pilar. In Del Carmen, take a look at the aquatic forest, enjoy doing Mathematics with the little whirlpools of the coast, and have time for leisure in Dedon Island. Forget your diet and have a meal of freshly-cooked barbeque at Dapa’s seaside. All of these majestic spots are located in Siargao Island. Now, let’s enjoy being on the waves while bringing us to the mainland. Let the pebbles of Mabua Pebble Beach massage your feet. Take a deep dive in the pool of Kasili Resort that is just beside the deep, aesthetical waters of Lake Mainit. Loosen up when you go deep in Tubod’s hot springs. Search every peso you have to have a taste of ambrosial fruits in the beside-the-highway fruitstands of Bad-as, Placer. Prepare your helmets and turn on your flashlights and your eyes will see the stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, flowstones, the giant circular ceiling hole, and the chocolate-colored mud floor of Cuyapnit Cave, just a 2.5 kilometer cruise on the rapids of Baoy River, only found in Gigaquit. Be awed by the Lumondo Waterfalls’ huge volume of water cascading into a 45 meter granite precipice a majestic panorama which can be viewed from a misty mountain trail. Lastly, take a selfie with the jellyfishes around you, relax at the Hidden Resort, drink the cinnamon tea at Cinnamon island where you can find a big rock that is like an ark just above the surface of the blue-green seawater, and wait for the low tide so that you can access to the Sohoton Cave, make sure you will jump if you’ll go up to a cave around the cove because you can’t go down except by jumping. You’ll become an “aquatic explorer” at Sohoton Cove, Bucas Grande, Socorro. All of these are only found in the audacious Surigao del Norte! Take a seat as we’ll discover more about the Surigao of the South, the extraordinary Surigao del Sur! The mystery and the enchanting waters of the Enchanted River is attracting tourists to dive and trying to catch a single fish. The growling, wild waters of Tinuy-an Falls is going to tempt you to feel the fresh water. The Brittania Islands will make you save the fun on the waves while you’re island hopping. Of course, the skin of Snow White is also the color of the radiant white sand of Cagwait beach that allured the tourists. If you take a glance at the maps, you’ll see the smiling Philippine trench just maybe miles away from the province. Let’s enter the magical realm of Agusan del Sur! Agusan del Sur has the wide Agusan Marsh, the habitat of the biggest crocodile of the world, Lolong. But sadly, he is now living above the clouds with God. When December comes, you can find tall Toog trees with refulgent lights and glittering Christmas balls that are twirling the big trunk of the tree. Let’s continue the journey to Agusan del Norte, the Agusan of the North! With its history and ravishing places, you’ll be thunderstruck and makes you feel free to explore! The Butuan City got its nickname “The Timber City of the South” from its logging industry that help the city be an highly urbanized city. The “Palagsing” that is made from lumbiya also has fame in the city. The Balangay Shrine Museum displays a 1,678 year old graveyard and other ancient materials found in this city. The longest river of Mindanao, the Agusan river is stretching its rushing waters from the South to the North of the Agusan provinces. Mt. Payapay is a mountain plateau with an eye-opening 2,214 feet above where the fishes swim and the waves kissing the sand on the shore. There is also the Butuan National Museum. It’s a repository of historical and cultural materials and artifacts of Butuan’s prehistory times. There are two exhibit galleries: the Archaeological Hall with stone crafts, metal crafts, wood crafts, potteries, materials for goldsmiths making, burial coffins and other archaeological diggings, while Ethnological Hall exhibits contemporary cultural materials used for living by Butuanon people. Now, the sea is inviting us again to sway with the waves towards the precious Dinagat Islands. Dinagat Islands is known for its finest beaches, like the Cadianao and Tagbirayan. The saltwater-loving mangrove trees form interminable marine forests covering an area of 17,473 hectares along the coasts of the mainland and the islands of Siargao and Dinagat. I can’t state all of the stunning spots, but all I can say is “CARAGA, You Have It All!”
