Hi All. Thanks to all who participated in the Friends annual general meeting last Wednesday night. It was a great turnout and it was nice to get that level of support from the community. We were reminded that we can do a better job of communicating, and we could use some help with that! Welcome to the FoFP board to Steve Hadden and Heather LaBrecque. We introduced a membership plan, we are looking for $50 to be a Friend, $250 to be a Benefactor and any amount beyond that to be REALLY GREAT. We have already had some REALLY GREAT contributions, so thanks for whatever you have done, and whatever you feel you can do. We have a lot of work ahead, but the last year was productive. Foremost was breaking the log-jam that kept us from being eligible for funding from the Littleton Clean Lakes Committee. Thanks to the Westford Rec Commission for welcoming Littleton residents to the Westford Town Beach, satisfying the requirement for public access with the CLC. We have also been investigating ways to route water through Abbott Mill to augment the flow through the existing draw-down structure, which has proven to be inadequate. We have bought sampling equipment to get an idea of the lakes "metabolism" so we can recommend a "diet" and we have raised awareness in the communities about the challenges to the lake and responses we can have.
