If we can ascertain a proper and safe place for Hammer Throw, times may shift to accommodate it. It may become an accuracy throw instead of distance if so. The faire may also ask us to participate in activities that might also necessitate time changes. Points are awarded as follows: 5 points for 1st Place 3 points for 2nd Place 1 Point for 3rd Place There will be mens and womens categories for Arm Wrestling, Tug of War, Test of Strength (and Hammer Throw if possible). In tournaments (Arm Wrestling and Tug of War) both semi-finalists shall be awarded 1 point unless they have a bye into the semis and lose. In case of ties, points will be split amongst the competitors (ie: tie for first place means 5+3/2 = 4 points). If 3 or more competitors tie for 1st place, each shall be awarded 3 points and no other points shall be awarded. If 2 or more competitors tie for 2nd place, and no persons have tied for 1st, 2 points shall be awarded and there shall be no 3rd place. If 3 or more competitors tie for 2nd place, and 2 persons have tied for 1st, 1 point shall be awarded and there shall be no 3rd place. If three or more persons tie for third and there have been no ties for 1st or 2nd, 1 point shall be awarded. Arm Wrestling and Tug of War shall be tournaments and the top 4 places shall be seeded based upon last years results. Any byes shall be awarded based on the seedings (ie: 1st bye goes to last years winner, 2nd to runner up, 3rd shall be decided by a coin flip between semi-finalists assuming neither had a bye into the semis. If a competitor or team had a bye into the semis and lost, they shall not be seeded). Clans competing for the overall title may only enter one participant each for Arm Wrestling and Hustru Snatch. Both participants in Hustru Snatch must be of the same clan to win clan points. Clan affiliation (including truce bonding) must be declared at sign ups. You can only represent one clan in clan events for your points to count toward clan points. Those competitors without a clan affiliation competing for the Individual title may compete in these events if they have not represented a clan in other events. Hustrus must be pinned,18 years of age and human. Archery, Axe Throw, Test of Strength, Arm Wrestling and Hustru Snatch (snatcher only) and Hammer Throw if we can find a safe place to stage it will count towards Individual honors as well as Clan honors. Pillage the Village and Tug of War Shall count only towards Clan honors. All participants must be 18 years of age or older, pinned members of the Guild, dressed in appropriate garb, and human. Transgressions against posted faire policies, poor sportsmanship, bad behavior, or intoxication are grounds for disqualification. Watch your language around the kiddies!!! Participants will be asked to sign a release for any event that is not a standard faire activity. Participating Clans (those that are fielding teams in both Pillage and Tug of War) shall select a warlord to represent them in any discussions on rules or disputes. That person must be designated Sunday morning and be available at all events. Olafs rule no longer applies. The best man or woman in any event should never be penalized for their excellence. Each participating clan shall select one representative to speak for them moving forward in the planning stages. I hope everyone approaches this Maraud in the spirit of camaraderie and competition in which it was conceived. Leave old grudges, disputes and slights at the door. Do your best and play fair. None of this counts in the real world. The real winners are the ones that have the most fun!! Orm Dansk
