Hi All, We often get asked whether we do shows other than Salute here in the UK. Well no we personally dont trade at other UK shows, but we know a Man who does. That man is Colonel T. Williams, in fact Colonel Bill has been our show representative since almost the very start of 4Ground (January 2012, just two months after we launched). The Colonel or his troops attend well in excess of 40+ wargames shows a year and whats more as our official show representative he carries the largest selection of 4Ground products available to the show going wargamer. Cad has asked the Colonel for information about the shows he does, the clubs that run them and hopefully to also give 4Ground collectors the heads up about shows he is soon to attend. A sort of Dispatches from the front and a posting of future maneuverers if you will. Here goes the first of Colonel Bills SHOW AND TELL dispatches! Greetings Cad Ol Chap, Colonel Bill here. Sent some of my chaps down to Skirmish at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammer School, Sidcup on sunday. They report the usual well attended and busy little show, ably administered by Harfields Military Figures. This one is a bit different to mainstream wargames shows as it started life as a Toy Soldier fair and still retains much of the charm from those early days, with representatives selling figures in all scales, both metal and plastic, and also some outstandingly ageless Britains models. Of course wargames are now a major part of the show and eight different wargames clubs had a presence there. The chaps got chatting to Paul & Chris from the Hornchurch Heroes Gaming Club. They were playing a Japanese skirmish game - Bushido. They were actually using 4Ground Dark Age buildings in the game and questions were asked of Stu and Scottie when they arrived back at the Depot as to why they had not sold the Hornchurch fellows some of the gorgeous new 4Ground Shogun buildings!!! All in all a very enjoyable way to spend a sunday. Next week its on to A Call to Muster at Middlesbrough. Sgt Major Big Tony Pattison is assisting Stu on the barricades - so stand to attention and approach the stall in a smart and soldier like manner!! Col.
