Hi Bandies, I hope everyone has recovered from the State - TopicsExpress

Hi Bandies, I hope everyone has recovered from the State Championships? I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to make the event run smoothly. Volunteers from bands did a fantastic job, and the Executive put in many hours both in the months leading to the event and on the day. I extend a sincere thanks to all – the Championships simply would not happen without volunteers. The next SABA event is the AGM this coming Friday in the new Enfield band room. As has been communicated to band secretaries, Janet Carey is retiring as SABA Secretary at this meeting. Thus far, we have not received any nominations to fill this spot. While the Secretaries role requires a greater time commitment than other roles, it also presents an opportunity to gain or strengthen skills you may not have the opportunity to develop in your student or professional life. Janet can attest the skills she developed as association secretary had a positive influence on winning her current job. There is scope to make the role suit your interests, and gain experience across a broad range of administrative functions including meetings and event co-ordination, customer service, marketing and a range of writing opportunities including event evaluation reports, funding applications and surveys. If this sounds great, but you have minimal time, there are ways we can share the workload across the Executive, and thus we can adapt to your schedule. If you are organised, enjoy working with people and have any time to spare, we would love to hear from you. Send in a nomination form, message us on Facebook, or email [email protected] for further information. Kind regards, Bronwyn
