Hi Chantelle Our trip was fabulous, marvellous, wonderful, out of this world, do you get the picture? We went with an open mind not to expect much as we were very disappointed with the Red Sea on our first trip. Way to much advertising to expect this wonderful diving experience. I am however of the opinion that I do not think December is the best time to go. Very hot, humidity was 90% . Viz was not that great due to storms around Madagascar. A lot of plankton in the water. But nevertheless the reefs are too die for. It is the most beautiful coral I’ve seen in my life. The kids saw a Whale shark on one of the dives, and on one of our dives the whale was about 25m away from the boat. Awesome ! The food and hospitality of the staff was excellent. During our briefing the first night we were asked what do we not eat. Our first night on arrival was a buffet, and the second night without even knowing or met me, the waitress put my starter, which was different from the rest of my family, in front of me. Good hey ! The one night my hubby woke up telling me the roof is leaking. I told him it is not raining, the next moment he got out of bed with a shock realizing that the water indeed got a very foul smell to it ha ha . Went for a shower and typical man, did not check the roof properly . That same night he woke up by saying... my donner ek glo dit nie, once again he was (excuse the language) shit and peed on. I laughed so much, that the 3 security guards came running to the room during this commotion. Eventually I saw a snake in the roof and it did not want to barge away notwithstanding the fact that we threw shoes at it. After a heluva language barrier explanation the security guard came with a bamboo stick and removed the snake. Izabella moved us to the Villa the next day ( we did not complain being boertjies on a farm we used to all kind of funny animals) but that was very nice to see and experienced the luxury of the Villa. The Villa is very nice, but we still preferred the Madiro having our own private little beach, alarm clock went off at 04:00 in the morning being the bird songs . It would be nice if they can upgrade the Madiro to the standards of the Villas. It was also nice to have the kids in the room, they jumped onto our bed the whole time, looking for chocolates ( being 21 and 24 years old they are still but maar kids). It was one of the most lekkerste family holidays I had in a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long time. Just need to save up some money again but is definitely going back in June/July sometime.
