Hi Everybody! I could really use some humanitarian assistance on something. Heres the deal...I have a friend who has a wonderful little boy. Hes 8 and a great kid, but he suffers with really severe autism. When his mom gained permanent custody of him recently, his father kept all his toys & wont give any of them back. So now, the little guy has nothing to play with in a brand new (and scary to kids with autism) environment. All of moms work money goes to care, house, and feed the little man, so she honestly doesnt have enough right now to spare for toys; if she did, she would have solved this already. I want to try to help him. I too will be getting him things, so were all in this together. My idea is to have people do one of those yearly toy clean ups with their kids. I would like to donate any loved, but gently used toys that your kids might have outgrown or be willing to part with. You would be doing a good thing, you get a cleaner kids room, and you have an opportunity to talk to your kids about helping someone who is less fortunate than you are right now. To make it totally easy, all you have to do is let me know you have something to donate (I assume youre in my Reno/Carson/Tahoe sort of area, but I can be a little bit flexible on driving.). I will arrange with you to pick up the toys at your convenience. Only thing is Id like to get this done by the 11th; he needs toys now. Im going to post some stuff about him below, his name is Apollo and he is 8 years old. If you are willing to help me, just post below & I will contact you personally. I appreciate in advance anyone who is willing to do anything, no matter how big or small. All kids deserve to play so thank you.
